About the Department
The Department of Biomedical Engineering was established in the year 2020. It covers practically all sub disciplines under Biomedical Engineering.Biomedical engineering improves human health by applying engineering principles and methods to medical problems. With expertise spanning physiology, biology, healthcare and health informatics, mechanics, instruments and engineering, biomedical engineers can combine their diverse skills to create solutions to continuing worldwide health issues, helping to change how patients are treated and lowering the cost of care.

To delegate a high-grade woman biomedical engineer for contemporary and ethical research for the society in the health care field and to furnish industry oriented enlightenment.

Events
Workshops educate students about academic plagiarism as well as offer detailed explanations and guided exercises on preventing plagiarism with proper direct quotation and paraphrasing. Faculties will be available to assist students individually with questions, and students are encouraged to bring in their own work so they can practice their newly acquired skills with the working tutors.

Laboratory Details
Biochemistry and Human Physiology lab
This lab introduces standard biochemical techniques and physiological examinations in the context of investigating various normal and disease conditions. Techniques include biochemical analysis of biological samples like Collection of Blood Samples and Identification of Blood groups, purification of amino acids, proteins and DNA, kinetic activity assays, virtual spectrophotometer, analysis of visual activity and hearing.
Major Equipment: UV-Visible spectrophotometer, Colorimeter, Sonicator, Clinical Centrifuge, Ophthalmoscope, Homogenizer, Incubators and Electrical Water Bath.

Pathology and microbiology lab
This lab provides the basis of modern scientific medical knowledge and plays a critical role in evidence-based medicine. This laboratory course allows students to understand the causes and mechanisms of human disease, as well as how they are investigated in the laboratory. The course structure consists of both theoretical and hands-on-training. It includes the entire process of routine clinical microbiology and pathology examinations namely microscopic examinations of biological samples like Urine physical and chemical examination, microbial staining, tissue processing, study of benign and malignant tumors, examination of leukemia and lymphoma cells, identification of microorganisms.
Major Equipment: Binocular Microscope, Triocular Microscope, Compound Microscope, Laminar Air Flow Chamber, Vortex Mixer, Autoclave, Tissue Processing Unit, Microtome, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Microtome, Incubators, Oven And Electrical Water Bath.

Bio-Sensors and Measurements Laboratory
This lab helps the students to study different mechanism of measurement of Temperature, pressure, displacement, force, speed, torque, stress etc. Students learn to measure Blood pressure and Human body temperature as well as develop the skill to calibrate the temperature, pressure gauges etc and to provide the basic understanding about operational characteristics and applications of various sensors and transducers.
Equipment List: Thermal Imaging Camera, Strain gauge Trainer Kit, Load Cell Trainer Kit, LVDT trainer kit, Thermocouple, Thermistor and RTD trainer kit, LDR, Photo Diode, Photo Transistor Trainer Kit, Pulse Oximetry, Wheatstone bridge, Kelvins Bridge, Schering Bridge, Maxwell Bridge, Respiration Rate Monitor.


Bio-Medical Instrumentation Laboratory
This lab helps the students to familiar with measure, store and analyze of Electrocardiogram (ECG), Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Blood Pressure and monitoring involving in the analysis of EEG, ECG and blood pressure. Students used to design, conduct and implement the experiments in the biological signals involving biomedical instrumentation.
Major Equipment: ECG Simulator, EMG Simulator, EEG Analyzer, EEG Recorder, Pulse Oximeter, Sphygmomanometer, Digital BP, Stethoscope, Glucose Meter and Software tool for PCB design
