Welcome To Department of Computer Science and Engineering

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is a distinctive department of VCEW established in 2001 with the intake of 45 and it has grown steadily over the years by increasing its intake to 60 in 2003, 90 in 2006 and 120 in 2007. The department has strong relationship with academic, research institutions and industries.

The department offers under graduate & post-graduate programme in Computer Science and Engineering. The B.E. Computer Science and Engineering Programme have been accredited by NAAC & NBA, New Delhi. The department has been recognized as a collaborative research centre for carrying out Ph.D under Anna University, Chennai. The department steps forward with an idea of strong commitment in building up competent programs with resounding standard of distinction. The department has well-set laboratories and an enriched warehouse of software covering a wide spectrum of applications.

The department possesses well-united and experienced faculty members with high professionalism and expertise in the areas of Networks (Wired and Wireless), Data Mining, Digital Image Processing and Cloud Computing, Neural networks, Software Engineering and Database Management System. Faculty members are themselves committed in the growth of student by providing uncompromising standard of excellence in training, both in class room sessions and hands on sessions. They are also involved in R&D activities, curriculum development, and organizing workshops, conference, symposia etc.

Graduates of Computer Science and Engineering will be able to

PO1	Engineering Knowledge : Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2	Problem Analysis : Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO3	Design/Development of solutions : Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO4	Conduct Investigations of Complex problems : Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO5	Modern Tool Usage : Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO6	The Engineer and Society : Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
PO7	Environment and Sustainability :Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

C3 club

Objective:

C3 abbreviation is Captivate Creativity Challenge.The club focuses on churning out different ideas from students which in turn helps in enhancing their individual thinking and perspective.
The club stimulates the studentsto captivate thoughts with their creative ideas to make challenge among students. The club attempts to create an awareness of the student’s mind by organizing activities like Poster making, Logo Creations, Multimedia Presentations, Ad Mad shows, Thought Blocking Quiz etc.

Functions of the "C3 Club"

The club actively involves in two ways i) Academic ii) Non- academic. The academic club participants will actively in job seeking area of Computer Science and Engineering like Creating and Designing logos, Web.The non- academic participants will made them actively involved in Memory Techniques, Team work, Work Sharing etc.
Students will be encouraged from other department to take part in C3 club.To integrate the skills of students for performing intra & inter -collegiate levels.  The creativity clubs is a space where people come to meet and use tools and resources available there, in order to learn through experimentation and play, collaborate and create together as well as to carry out their own projects, share knowledge and solve problems

Video Lectures & Innovation in Teaching

Lab Facility

Live-in-Labs is a multidisciplinary, "theory into practice''program, that facilitates the research, development, and deployment of sustainable solutions for current challenges faced by rural communities in India. This provides students an experiential learning opportunity where they can directly interact, observe, study, and live in rural communities in order to gain a better understanding of problems.

Our Department equipped with latest infrastructure and imparting technical education and serving the students. This research laboratory is equipped with most sophisticated imported equipment enabling to carry out the research in the frontier area.The department has state of art laboratories having nearly 300 computers with latest configurations with all the necessary software and packages with updated versions of operating system and antivirus software. The following Lab courses are conducted by the department.
