About Department

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 2001. It covers practically all sub disciplines under Electronics and Communication Engineering. In the academic year 2010-2011, our department initiated P.G course M.E. VLSI Design in the academic year 2011-2012.

Electronics and Communication Engineering course give enormous job opportunities in electronics and software companies. All electronic devices need software interface to run and control over the functionality, which can be developed by Electronics and Communication Engineering. It also gives great opportunities for research and development, as everyday consumer need new devices to support them in daily life. Electronics and Communication Engineering subjects like digital electronics and logic design, fundamentals of communication engineering, electronic circuits, signals and systems, power electronics, applied electromagnetic theory, integrated circuits, VLSI, control systems and computer architecture are the key sources to accomplish our new innovations in day by day.

Programme Education Objectives (PEOs):

PEO1	To offer strong theoretical and practical knowledge with managerial skills and entrepreneurial competencies.
PEO2	TTo impart analytic and questioning skills to broaden innovative ideas for Research and Development based on Industry requirements.
PEO3	To achieve a high level technical expertise in Electronics and Communication Engineering and inculcate professional ethics and social concern.

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs):

PO1	Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2	Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO3	Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO4	Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO5	Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO 6	Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
PO7	Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PSO1	Comprehend the basic concepts of electronics and communication and apply in the day to day life to design and execute complete engineering systems.
PSO2	Design, verify and validate electronic functional elements for numerous applications including signal processing, communications, computer networks and VLSI.
PSO3	Demonstrate the intellectual level with peer engineers and others to work together to arrive at a cost-effective, appropriate solution for various problems.

Objectives of DIGITAL DIVAS club:

Functions of the DIGITAL DVAS club:

1.Technical Workshops and Training Sessions : A digital club in an Engineering college can conduct workshops and training sessions to provide hands-on experience to students in various digital technologies.

2.Competitions and Challenges : The club can organize various online and offline competitions and challenges to encourage students to showcase their digital skills.

3.Mentorship Programs : The club can provide mentorship programs to students, connecting them with industry expets and professionals who can guide them in their digital learning journey.

4.Career Guidance and Placement Support : The club can provide career guidance to students, helping them find the right digital career paths and assisting them in finding job placements.

Green Club

Objectives of Green club :

• With the increasing demand for energy, effective management and conservation of the same has become the need of the hour. SDGs are formed to achieve sustainable green earth and so students should know about SDGs and strategies to achieve those.

• This club allows the student to showcase their talents and concern towards energy conservations and importance of implementing renewable sources. Students have to undertake various activities and present their ideas to conserve energy

• Enable students to implement energy efficiency projects in nearby societies.

• Publish the concluded project outcome in indexed Journals.

Functions of Green club :

• Club events focus on developing student’s technical and professional skills through various training and awareness programs.

• All programs encourage student’s to save mother earth and also to become a skilled engineer.

• 17 SDGs have to be known by students and they should come up with innovative approaches.

• This club focuses to trigger the creative minds of students.

• It also gives attention on building innovative products.

• All members of green club are eligible to participate in various conferences, confabs and paper publications conducted by IGEN.

• Best papers are published in standardized journals to boost problem solving skills.

IETE

Overview

The IETE has built up an impressive strength of student members all over the Country,at both Graduate (AM) and Diploma (SD) levels. A pass in Section A& B makes themeligible for AMIETE / DipIETE respectively. Students chapters of IETE Centres generallytake care of the academic / professional needs of these members.IETE however needs to be well known to all electronics / telecommunication / computerscience / information technology students to build awareness amongst them for themutual benefit. In India, there are nearly 600 Engineering Colleges (affiliated toUniversities), over 190 universities and over 750 Polytechnics (coming under StateDtes). Most of these Institutions have Departments of Electronics /Telecom / Computer /IT / Electrical and related areas of direct interest to IETE and prepare the students forBE/B Tech or Diploma Qualifications.

Objectives

The IETE Students' Forum shall be set up at each major recognized Engineering College /University, with the assistance and involvement of senior faculty members of theInstitution. The IETE Centre in the region shall provide support and coordination in theestablishment and the working of the forum.The IETE Students Forum shall have the following broad objectives :

• To plan and organize technical programmes and activities, such as, special lectures, workshops, seminars, symposia, exhibitions etc for the benefit of student members on a regular basis.

• To provide a common platform for the student members to exchange ideas and information on the topics of their interest e.g. curriculum, employment / highereducational opportunities, emerging trends, new development etc.

• To facilitate technical visits / practical training / project work / employment, ofthe student members in R&D laboratories, industries, academic institutions etc.

• To encourage team work and the spirit of self-reliance among the studentmembers;

• To serve as a focal point at the institution on all aspects of professionaldevelopment of the student members.

Benefits :

All the members of IETE Students Forum have priority for publishing their papers in Journal of Education. They can also subscribe for other publication of the IETE, viz. IETE Journal of Research and IETE Technical Review. They are also welcome to attend all IETE technical programmes arranged in India at a reduced registration fee. The Institutions, wherein IETE students forum is established shall receive the following benefits :

• A suitable grant to the IETE Forum, commensurate with the membership strength, to conduct the various activities of the Forum (@ of Rs 40/- per student per year.)

• One complete set of technical publications of the IETE including IETE Journal of Research, IETE Technical Review, IETE Journal of Education, IETE Newsletter (one copy in each case) is sent to ISF Co-ordinator.

• Regular interaction with IETE Centres in the region and support from IETE Corporate members, R&D laboratories, industries etc in the technical programmes of the Forum.

• Possibility of setting up Electronics Hobby Centre in the institution with industry

• support;Improvement in the quality of students pursuing the Degree/ Diploma courses

• and increase their employment potential.

• To Organise activities of ISF and / or with IETE Local / Sub-Centre, Prizes for Quiz, Paper reading competition, organising Inter-College function at the level of Local Centres, visit to various Engineering Colleges / Institutions and organizing joint activities.

• Annual function in each IETE Students' Forum to be organised for which a special grant could be considered.

• In addition Annual Quiz, Essay Competition, National or Zonal Technical Paper Contest for the students be organised at the time of Mid-Term Symposium and Annual Technical Convention in whichever Centre the functions are organised.

• ISF Students will be given reduction in fee payment during enrolment of Associate Member of IETE, equivalent to the amout paid at the time of joining ISF.

IoT Club

Objectives of IoT club :

• The IoT Club is an initiative taken to encourage and master the students of institute in the Internet of Things and related domains.

• To provide opportunities for on-going learning and sharing IoT concepts and breakthroughs between university students, faculty, and industry professionals.

• To create awareness and offer a platform to students to explore and apply IoT technologies in industry-level standards.

• To make students skilful in devices Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Automation sensors, Actuators etc.

• Hands on workshops in the institute for skill development and experience.

• The main idea is to develop new skills and to help students to gain knowledge in Internet of Things and also to work on various related domains.

Functions of the IoT club :

• The IoT club serves as a place of community for students to discuss, to learn about, and to work on projects related to IoT.

• The club is supported by both internal and external experts who assist the students in strategizing and organizing activities that will help students to have reasonable knowledge and skills in IoT.

• Members of the IoT club are offered with a range of programs and activities such as seminars, workshops, short courses, certifications, hackathons, project competitions and exposition.

• The club also organizes talks/sessions by seniors and alumni on Internship and Placement preparation.

ISTE Club

Overview

• With the motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students as well as the overall development of our Technical Education System, the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the main National Professional Non-Profit Society for Technical Education System in the nation.

• At present, ISTE has a very large and an effective membership base consisting Life Membership for Faculty Members, Student Membership for Students, Institutional Membership for Institution (including IITs, NITs and other leading technical institutions) throughout the country.

• It is a Professional Society giving more National and Regional Awards to Institutions, Teachers and Students for innovation and excellence in various areas of Engineering and Technology. It runs Mathematical Competitions, Short-Term Training Programmes and Faculty Development Programmes.

Objectives

• Offer top-notch training programmes to teachers and administrators of technical Institution to keep them to update on knowledge and abilities in their domains of expertise.

• Assist in the creation of the most professional engineers and technicians that the industry and other organisations require.

• Give instruction and training to students to develop better learning skills and personality.

ISTE in VCEW

• The VCEW have an Educational Institution Membership of ISTE for both faculty and students.

• The membership validity for faculty is life time and 4 years / 3 years depending on the duration of the course.

• At present the chapter has around 133 student members and 69 faculty members from the various departments.

• ISTE Chapter organizes various events like Inter departmental competitions, Quiz competitions, Workshop,Symposium,Webinar and Seminar etc.

YOGA CLUB

Objectives Of YOGA Club:

Yoga aids in developing self-control and self-discipline, which increase self-awareness, self-concentration, and self-consciousness to a much greater level.

The objectives of the Yoga Club are:

• To create awareness on the benefits of Yoga in life.

• To gain physical and mental health

• To incorporate moral principles through yoga and meditation

• To attain concentration by controlling mind, body and soul.

Functions of the YOGA club:

• The YOGA Club assigns different responsibilities to students for smooth conduct of the program

• The club activities include conducting yoga sessions for students in order to be physically fit,also to improve body health, Mental health balance and flexibility

• A broad variety of Yoga sessions are being conducted for students to learn different yoga poses and its benefits.

• The club alsoorganizes program also for faculty members to relieve stress.

• The best performers are identified, and they are assigned to train other students, Train the trainer concept is applied.
